As
part of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center's observance
of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, Dr. Tim Osberg,
professor of psychology, Dr. Brooke Lewis, assistant
director of counseling services, and Dr. Shannon Hodges,
assistant professor of mental health counseling, presented
a panel discussion entitled "Coping with fears and
anxieties in 'these times'" to hospital staff and members
of the community. The panel examined the psychological
impact of living in an age of terrorism, war, and diseases
such as SARS and offered audience members an array
of coping strategies to apply to themselves or their
patients. The panel was organized by Robin Zander
of Memorial's Behavioral Health Unit. |
