The Goal of the Stomp Out Stigma Run/Walk is to raise funds to help educate the public about mental health issues and eradicate the stigma surrounding mental health problems. Bill Newton, Assistant Director of Campus Activities, is a Race Director Extraordinaire. Lindsay Atkins, apsychology major and Active Minds co-president, is the best example of an NU student committed to serving her community. Dr. Tim Osberg's goal is to help the Mental Health Association in Niagara County in its efforts to educate the public about mental health issues. The three collaborated in organizing the second annual Stomp Out Stigma Run/Walk. With the help of the Active Minds on Campus chapter at NU, many volunteers, and numerous sponsors, a hugely successful run/walk to benefit the MHA in featuring nearly 200 runners and walkers took place. The race/walk raised $2000 for the MHA! Thanks to all of our race volunteers, especially the members of Active Minds!
