On Friday, March 31, 2006 the faculty of the psychology department hosted students from Ms. Claire Smith's psychology class at Lockport High School. The students, nearly 40 in number, were given a campus tour followed by lunch and a tour of the labs in the psychology department in DePaul Hall. Clockwise from left: Dr. Peter Butera, chair of the psychology department addresses the students before the lab tour began; Dr. Donna Thompson describes her research to students touring her developmental psychology lab; Dr. Burt Thompson explains some of his findings on human memory while students gather in the cognitive psychology lab; Dr. Tim Osberg fields questions from students about his research on psychological assessment as students sit around the conference table in the clinical psychology lab; Dr. Butera displays some examples of neuroanatomy while students observe in his animal research lab; and Dr. Susan Mason describes her ongoing research as students listen intently in the gerontology lab.
