Bio
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, Dr. Pimlott moved to North Central Florida with her parents when she was 9. While attending graduate school, she taught history and political science at both Central Florida Community College and Santa Fe College. During her last few semesters of graduate school, she also taught her own courses in Political Behavior and Congress at the University of Florida. Jamie moved to Washington, D.C. in April 2006, where she spent 10 months working on grant-funded research examining money in state politics at the Campaign Finance Institute. Promoted to Research Analyst in the Spring of 2007, she worked exclusively on issues of campaign finance and the 2008 presidential election. In fact she was quoted in both Roll Call and Forbes for her research on candidate fundraising in the summer of 2007. Since arriving at Niagara In August of 2007, Dr. Pimlott has focused her attention on publishing her book, teaching and mentoring students, and providing service to her department, college, and university. In May 2009 she received the College of Arts & Sciences’ award for Excellence in Teaching. She has a 16 year old daughter, a boyfriend, a dog, and a cat. :)
