Niagara University's College of Education will host an open house at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, for individuals considering its new doctoral program in leadership and policy. The event will take place on the fourth floor of St. Vincent’s Hall, located on the Niagara University campus.

Interested candidates will be able to access information about the Ph.D. program and meet with the faculty administering the curriculum. Dr. Walter Polka, the program’s director, will speak to attendees about the university, its professors and the coursework associated with the Ph.D. tract.

Current doctoral candidates will also be on hand to discuss their experiences, including how they achieve school-life balance and why they chose Niagara University. In addition, admissions representatives will be available to answer questions about the application process, financial aid and graduate research assistantships.

Launched in fall 2011, the 60-credit Ph.D. program in leadership and policy is designed for working professionals who are interested in furthering their ability to generate new knowledge through research and advance study. The program offers an innovative and unique model in preparing leaders who can implement systemic change to further organizational and community goals. Candidates will enhance their capabilities in shaping, implementing and evaluating policy in international, cross-disciplinary and diverse contexts.
