All students who request a tutor from the Learning Center are required to abide by the following Tutee Contract.

Tutee Contract

In accepting tutorial services from the Learning Center,

I understand and agree to the following:

1. ATTENDANCE:

  • I will make every effort to arrive on time for all sessions. If I am unable to attend a meeting with my tutor, I will notify the tutor and/or the Learning Center in advance (24 hours is preferred). If I do not notify either my tutor or the Learning Center in advance, my absence will be counted as a "No Show." Tutors are not obligated to reschedule No Show sessions.
  • My tutoring services may be cancelled if:

I fail to attend 2 consecutive tutoring appointments without prior notification to the Learning Center or my tutor of my intended absences. Such an absence is considered a No Show.

I fail to attend a total of 4 tutoring sessions. (The 4 absences can be any combination of cancellations and/or No Shows).

I habitually come to my tutoring sessions unprepared or behave in a way that is detrimental to the tutoring session.

Note: If your tutoring services are cancelled, you have the right to discuss the matter with the Peer Tutor Coordinator who may consider reinstatement.

2. EFFORT

  • I will make a full and responsible effort to be successful in this course, and I will not hold my tutor or the Learning Center accountable for any lack of dedication on my part.

3. PREPARATION:

  • I will come prepared to tutoring sessions, having completed reading assignments and homework exercises as assigned by my instructor or recommended by my tutor.

4. PREREQUISITES:

  • I understand that the Learning Center is not obligated to provide a tutor in a class for which I lack the prerequisite coursework (LSK or Developmental reading, writing, or math courses that were recommended after CARE testing but not taken). Tutoring cannot replace the material covered in these courses.

5. PROBLEMS or QUESTIONS:

  • I will notify the Peer Tutor Coordinator of any questions or concerns that I have about my tutor or any other aspect of the tutoring program.
