Writing Center tutors help students develop their abilities to write effective papers for courses across the curriculum. While tutors do not edit, proofread, or correct students' papers, they can recommend a variety of composing strategies and resources for improving writing skills.

The Writing Center also has a number of useful handouts available for students, such as information about MLA and APA style, discourse conventions, and basic usage and mechanics.

In addition, the Writing Center staff offers a number of workshops on writing-related topics. Faculty or students may request workshops relevant to their course-specific needs.
