Any
student with a learning disability who meets the stated guidelines
for acceptance will be approved for admission without consideration
of the disability. Any
documentation of disability submitted to the Admissions Office
will be forwarded to the Coordinator of Specialized Support
Services and will be filed until the student contacts the Coordinator
to request accommodations, adjustments, auxiliary aids and
services, and/or protection from discrimination.
Any student
with a learning disability who may
not qualify for admission under regular requirements should
follow these procedures:
3. The Coordinator may
ask the student to complete University placement testing in
reading, writing, and math with appropriate accommodation and/or
an interview. If you would like to learn more
about Placement Testing, please click
here.
4. The
Coordinator will then send a written summary of the impact
of the disability on the high school performance (e.g., high
school average, rank, SAT/ACT scores) to the Admissions Office
for review and
a final decision.
5. Appeals
can be made
following the “Policy and Procedures for Undergraduate
Admission.” Contact
the Admissions Office for details (716-286-8700).
