Through Niagara University’s Early Advantage
Program, professors can refer students to the Office of Academic
Support for academic support services. The purpose of the Early
Advantage Program is to contact students who may not be doing
as well academically as they could, and to help them find ways
to make this semester as successful as possible.
Staff members of the Office of Academic Support
make the initial contact with referred students and meet with
them to talk about their experiences in their courses. Our office
has a number of services available to students at no charge (tutoring,
writing support, workshops), and many students each year find
that our assistance even makes the difference between passing
and failing a class. If needed, the staff can also connect students
with other services on campus that will support them with additional
issues that may be affecting their coursework.
Please be assured that the specific content
of discussions will remain confidential between student and OAS/EAP
staff.
