Nursing Applicants

 

NURSING PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS


We are now accepting nursing applications on a rolling basis. We are excited about the opportunity to work closely with the new nursing students while providing a flexible learning schedule.  Niagara's Nursing Department has a long tradition of excellence established by the Nursing alumni who will work side by side with students mentoring and guiding them through their program.

Basic Requirements:

    1. Degree or Expected Degree from an Accredited Associate Degree Nursing Program or Hospital School of Nursing with C's or better in all relevant nursing courses

    2. Must have overall GPA of a 2.5 or better

    3. Must provide official transcripts from all colleges attended and high school.

    4. Must schedule an interview with Nursing Department Faculty.  You may call 716-286-8155 or email to set up an appointment separately from this application.

    5. Before entering the second semester you must provide the following documents to continue participation in program

                   1. Copy of RN License

                   2. Copy of CPR Card

NURSING APPLICATION PROCESS


SEND ALL REQUIRED MATERIAL TO the Office of Admissions, Bailo Hall, Niagara University, New York 14109-2011.  Please note that some materials

may be brought to the Nursing interview.

1) CONTACT DR. FRANCES CROSBY TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT:

  • The Nursing Program at Niagara University
  • Available Nursing Scholarships & Grant Money
  • Or to Schedule an Interview (See Step 5).

2) BEGIN THE APPLICATION BY CONTACTING MARK WOJNOWSKI IN ADMISSIONS.  HE WILL HELP YOU NAVIGATE THE PROCESS.

3) COMPLETE THE ADMISSIONS APPLICATION (PART 1 ONLY)

4) REQUEST OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS BE SENT TO ADMISSIONS

  • An official transcript from each college you have attended.  These are required for credit evaluation and acceptance to Niagara University.
  • An official high school transcript or, if appropriate, an official copy of your high school equivalency test results (GED records)
  • Address to use: Office of Admissions, Bailo Hall, Niagara University, New York 14109-2011. 

5) SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW WITH DR. FRANCES CROSBY IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO.

6) MATERIALS TO BRING TO THE INTERVIEW OR SEND DIRECTLY TO ADMISSIONS

  • OFFICIAL TRANSFER TRANSCRIPTS must be mailed directly to Admissions or brought to the interview in a sealed envelope.  These are required and can help speed up the processing of your application. While official transcripts are necessary for admission, providing Dr. Crosby with unofficial transcripts can assist with transfer credit placement questions.
  • If you have already taken the RN licensure exams, please bring your license with you to the interview.
  • A printed application if you have not yet submitted it to Admissions
    • Two letters of professional reference
    • A copy of your current C.P.R. certification
    • Submit a $30 nonrefundable application fee, payable to Niagara University. This should either be attached to the application or sent under separate cover.  Please make sure that your name (applicant’s name) and social security number are clearly written on the check or money order.
