Bio

Dr. Jozwiak-Shields teaches the Health Assessment and Promotion and Internship courses. She received her B.S. in nursing from Niagara University, and her M.S. in nursing, adult nurse practitioner, and Ph.D. in sociology, (medical sociology) from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Current Research

Currently examining individuals' perceptions regarding receiving flu vaccinations.

Current Involvement

Connie is a nationally board certified adult nurse practitioner that maintains a clinical practice with a medical research group and volunteers weekly as an adult nurse practitioner at an inner-city health center, which serves a low income and large refugee population on the East side of Buffalo.

She is also a member of the Niagara University Academic Integrity Board, chair of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church's pastoral executive committee and a member of the Bufffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart's enrollment management commitee.
