Bio

Dr. Jozwiak-Shields has taught in the Department of Nursing since it reopened in 2006 and had been a faculty member in the College of Nursing in the 1980s and 90s. She is an adult nurse practitioner in a clinical research practice and volunteers in an inner city health center in Buffalo.  Dr. Jozwiak-Shields has a Ph.D. in medical sociology and also teaches in the Sociology Department.  She is coordinator of the RN-BS program.

Currently examining individuals' perceptions regarding receiving flu vaccinations.

Current Involvement

Connie is a nationally board certified adult nurse practitioner that maintains a clinical practice with a medical research group and volunteers weekly as an adult nurse practitioner at an inner-city health center, which serves a low income and large refugee population on the East side of Buffalo.

She is also a member of the Niagara University Academic Integrity Board, chair of St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church's pastoral executive committee and a member of the Bufffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart's enrollment management commitee.
