Nurse Scholars Program & Partnership

September 8, 2009

Niagara University’s Nursing program and Catholic Health have partnered to offer qualified RNs the opportunity to complete a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, through a unique program offered at the Catholic Health Education Center in Cheektowaga. Federal earmark money has assisted in these efforts by supporting a faculty person as a liaison to establish the process.

Dr. Frances Crosby remarked that the overwhelming responses from the nurses, made it difficult to select the first cohort. Of the 95 eligible applicants to the program, space was limited to 35 nurses in the first cohort. Due to the great interest and talent of the nurses, Dr. Crosby hopes to offer another cohort in the near future.
