NUOP Student News

Summer, 2009

During the summer of 2009, NUOP student Shane Palmer travelled to London to participate in a study abroad program.  Below he shares about some of his experiences in London:

College should be more than just classes and homework. The college that you chose should help you fly and make your wildest dreams come true. This past summer went beyond my wildest dreams! Niagara University and Niagara University Opportunity Program helped make my dream of traveling the world come true. I spent the majority of my summer studying aboard in London. I took three classes at Schiller International University:  economics of developing countries, business communications, and human rights. Although I found these courses extremely interesting and I learned a great deal they were only a mere part of what made my experience so incredible. I traveled to five countries in eight weeks, including Great Britain, Spain, Ireland, France, and Holland. I saw the Mona Lisa, the Eiffel Tower, the house that Ann Frank hid in, and I swam in the Mediterranean Sea. Not only did I see and experience many different cultures I also meet amazing people and made friendships that I think will last for years to come. (Photo above is Shane near the London Eye)
