Sometimes, if you really want a job, you just have to get out from behind that computer screen and shake some hands.
That’s the message that Niagara University's Office of Career Services is conveying as it presents “Facebook 2 Face,” a free networking event being held Feb. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. on the fourth floor of St. Vincent’s Hall.
“Facebook 2 Face,” modeled after the concept of “speed dating,” allows university students opportunities to practice and develop their networking skills with several local employers. In addition, students will be provided with feedback on their networking skills, so that they can work on improving the way that they market themselves before entering the job market.
Attendees will also hear from John Bourdage, founder of Bourdage Consulting and an advisor in NU's Hospitality Training & Research Center. Bourdage has dedicated his life’s work to the improvement of interpersonal relationships, whether casual or business, through a renewed understanding of service and social skills.
Students in all majors are encouraged to attend.
