Jessica Schirmer, Rochelle Greek, Daniel Otto, and faculty advisor Al Oddo at Beta Alpha Psi Conference, New York City
Niagara University accounting students received two national awards at the annual meeting of Beta Alpha Psi in New York City, August 6-8, 2009. They were awarded for the most federal income tax returns prepared and for the number of volunteers contributing at least 5 hours of service. The awards were presented by the Internal Revenue Service to Rochelle Greek, President of Niagara University's Lambda Chi chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. Also representing NU at the conference were BAP officers Daniel Otto, Jessica Schirmer, and BAP faculty advisor Al Oddo.
Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field, and to promote a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility. Founded in 1919 Beta Alpha Psi has 284 chapters on college and university campuses around the world with over 300,000 members.
