Kappa Gamma Pi is the national Catholic college graduate honor society. Members are graduate students who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadershi p during their college years. As candidates, they pledge to continue to provide examples of scholarship, leadership and service in their personal and professional lives.
In 2003 the graduate council, chaired by Father Daniel O’Leary voted to establish an honor society for graduate students at Niagara University in all degree programs. A honor society was wanted specifically for catholic institutions that would recognize academic excellence and be in keeping with Niagara University's Vincentian mission of service. The graduate council felt strongly that this should be an organization with strict criteria for induction. Kappa Gamma Pi was the perfect fit, and in May 2004 thirteen inaugural members were inducted and Niagara University became the newest Kappa affiliated university.
To be eligible the nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Be matriculated in a graduate discipline at Niagara University
