Actuarial Science Track
Below is a list of recommended mathematics electives to assist students who are interested in Actuarial Science (students may prepare for the Actuarial Examinations under faculty supervision by registration in Independent Study in Mathematics Courses):
MAT 305 Mathematics of Finance
MAT 435 Probability and Statistics I
MAT 436 Probability and Statistics II
Most students would also obtain a minor in a business related area in this track.

B.A. MATHEMATICS EDUCATION
With Teacher Certification, Grades PreK-6

MAT 102 Introductory Statistics
MAT 251 Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers
MAT 227 Foundations in Mathematics

MAT 320 Mathematical Modeling

MAT 451 History of Mathematics
Mathematics Elective (300-400 level)
MAT 499 Mathematics Seminar
CIS 198 Intro to Computers and Programming for Teachers
A college level course (3 credit hours) in English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and a language other than English is required for New York State Certification, grades PreK-6.

Alternative Certification:
Elementary Education students may extend their certification to include grades 7-12 with six (6) college credit hours in a language other than English.

A college level foreign language other than English is required for New York State Certification, grades 7-12.

Alternative Certification:
Secondary Education students may extend their certification to include Elementary Education (grades PreK-6) with six (6) college credit hours in a language other than English, six (6) in mathematics, six (6) in social studies, six (6) in science, six (6) in English and six (6) in reading. Some of these requirements will already be satisfied in the General Education component.
