Markel Insurance Refund

If you were one of the 130 Niagara University students who purchased health insurance through Markel Insurance in 2007, 2008 or 2009, you might be entitled to a small refund.

Markel has been ordered by the New York Attorney General and the Department of Financial Services to refund certain premiums for those years. Markel is in the process of gathering the appropriate data in order to make premium refunds directly to students and former students.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, you can contact Dana Zheng or Carol DePuy at Markel by calling 855.872.5008, or you can complete an online claim form available at https://micnycollegerefunds.collegeinsurance.com to see if you are eligible for a refund.

Please contact Ryan Thompson in the NU General Counsel's Office (716.286.8319 or gcatty@niagara.edu) with any questions.
