Lynn Torpy Named October's Employee of the Month at NU

Lynn Torpy, office coordinator in the Office of Financial Aid has been named Employee of the Month for October 2009. A native of Wheatfield, Torpy has been employed at Niagara since April 1980, when she was hired as the data control technician in the office.

Torpy is instrumental in providing the financial aid information for CARE, Niagara's orientation program for first-year students.  This can be a very stressful time for all concerned.  A nomination said,

"Lynn is always accommodating whenever there is additional last minute requests to complete the packages for incoming students."

Not only is Torpy always willing to help, she does it with a positive attitude. Her supervisor, Maureen Salfi, director of the office, commented, "Lynn is a dedicated employee who is very helpful and gracious to her constituents whether it is students, parents or fellow employees."    

Torpy resides in Youngstown.
