MEMBERS OF ST. PETER AND PAUL'S CHURCH IN HAMBURG VISIT ART EXHIBIT
St. Peter and Paul's Church in Hamburg ran a bus trip to Toronto in August to visit
the Images of Salvation art show. About 35 peopled viewed masterpieces brought from Rome to celebrate the Pope's visit to Toronto for World Youth Day. A delightful tour guide spoke about the saints in art works. He even sang the music written in Gregorian chant in an ancient antiphon that was on display.
PUBLIC LIBRARY SECTION CHAIR, JACK EDSON, REPORTS ON WORLD YOUTH DAY MASS
I drove up to Toronto to attend the World Youth Day Mass that was being celebrated by the Pope John Paul II on July 28, 2002. The crowd was estimated at a million people and the mass began at 9:30 a.m. and concluded about Noon. The event was spiritual, but it was also nationalistic, with young people from around the world flying their national colors, and with the Pope addressing the crowd in many languages, including, of course, Polish.

Chapter President, Suzette Hino, and Public Library Section Chair, Jack Edson,
visited St. Luke's Mission of Mercy to speak with Amy Betros, who promotes "the Word" by her deeds in a poor section of Buffalo. Ms. Betros was amazingly candid and warm and invited the WNYCLA to attend a special program that she and her missionaries could offer at the mission.
