All Niagara University students are provided with storage space on our network. This space is for academic use. You may access this space anywhere on campus, assuming you are on a Windows computer. When you use the computers in the St. Vincent’s Hall computer labs, you’ll see a shortcut on the desktop called “My Network Space.” This will bring you to your space on our student file server,
eagles.niagara.edu. You can also access your space by entering the following path:
\\eagles\home\s0123456
(Note: you must substitute your PurplePass
username for the one used in this example).
You can enter this path in Windows Explorer, or by going to Start->Run and entering the path shown above.
If you are prompted for a login to gain access to your space (meaning you are not already logged in via PurplePass to the machine you are using), you will need to authenticate yourself using your PurplePass username and password.
There is a soft storage quota of 50MB for each student directory, however, if more space is needed for academic use you may request
additional space.
This storage space offers a convenient place to store your files so you don’t have to carry around removable media. It also protects your files and eliminates the frequent occurrence of floppy disks becoming damaged or lost.
Should you have any questions regarding your network space, please call x7300 or visit the IT help desk.
