PurplePass

The PurplePass is a single sign-on system that allows Niagara University students to use one username and password among several online systems and services. All current NU students will have a PurplePass created for them. Please refer to the FAQ below for more information.

How do I get my PurplePass?

All Niagara University students will have a PurplePass automatically generated for them. You don't have to go anywhere for it.

What is my username?

Your username is s + your 7 digit student number. For example, if your student number is 106848, your username would be s0106848.

What is my password?

Nu +Day of Birth + last four digits of Social Security Number. If I was born on "June 10" and the last four digits of my Social security number are "3344", my defaulted password will be "Nu103344". Students are strongly encouraged to change their passwords once they’ve logged in for the first time.

Alternately, if we do not have the required information on file for you to create the default password, an alternate password is used. This is 'Nu', followed by the first 2 letters of your last name, followed by the last 4 digits of your student number.

This is your initial password, and it should be changed to something different.

What if I forget my password?

You can have it reset by visiting the Password Reset page. If you do not have a social security number on file with us, you will have to contact the help desk in St. Vincen't Hall. Passwords are reset to the default value, shown above on this page.

How do I change my password?

You can change your PurplePass password at http://oldmail.niagara.edu:1856/iisadmpwd/aexp2b.asp.

My account isn't working, what do I do?

If you are having account trouble, visit the help desk in St. Vincen't Hall or call 716-286-7300 or x7300 on campus.

Which systems work with the PurplePass?

Currently, myNU, Web Advisor and iMail work with the PurplePass.  In addition to these major systems, individual areas of the Niagara University Website utilize the PurplePass. Just look for the PurplePass logo!

If I have questions or problems, what can I do?

•Visit http://www.niagara.edu/it for online help.

•Visit the IT Help Desk, St. Vincent’s Hall room 108 with your student ID for assistance Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
