myNU is a system that offers personalized content to NU students, carefully selected and organized links, and many other useful services. The system's main function is to bring all of the useful content to our students in an efficient and organized Web site. It also facilitates efficient communication with our students through its messaging system.
All NU students will have an account with the system this fall.
Instructions will be offered on the Information Technology Web site at http://www.niagara.edu/it.
Support is available online at www.niagara.edu/it, by phone at 286-7300, or at the Information Technology help desk located on the first floor of St. Vincent’s Hall.

For the Fall 2002 semester, the myNU system will be in a “beta” stage, meaning it is new and is being tested and improved through its continued use and the feedback we receive. Future plans for myNU include online registration, online grades, online account info, improved student life systems, and much more. Please let us know what you’d like to see on the system by using the feedback from on the main page.
How do I login to the myNU system?
Using a Web browser, go to http://mynu.niagara.edu. Here, you will be able to login to your personal portal using your personal information.
What is my username?
The Student user name is a small "s" followed by your complete seven digit Student Number. Example: Student number = 0034567 then Username = s0034567.
What is my password?
The default password that will be used will follow the following convention:
"Nu" + Day of Birth + last four digits of Social Security Number. If I was born on "June 10" and the last four digits of my Social security number are "3344", my defaulted password will be "Nu103344". Students are strongly encouraged to change their passwords once they’ve logged in for the first time.
If you we do not have the required information to create your initial password, please visit St. Vincent’s Hall room 108 with your student ID for assistance Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
What do I do if I forget my password?
Due to security reasons, we cannot supply you with your existing password. If you have forgotten your password, click on the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the myNU login page. This will help you set a new password for yourself.
Is the course schedule I see on myNU correct?
The course schedule is updated nightly. If you make a change during the day, it will not reflect until the following day. The printouts from the Records Office are always the best method of retrieving your schedule, but the myNU system is accurate as of the previous days status.
Is it important to logout?
Yes! Always use the logout function located in the upper right area of the Web site. This makes sure that no one else can see your personal data. Also, you should close the Web browser after you logout, especially if you are accessing myNU from the labs. This rule of thumb goes for all Web-based services where your personal data is used.
How do I change my password?
On the upper-right of the myNU page, you’ll see the ‘Change Password’ link. Just click on that and enter your new password in the form provided.
Will my username or password change from semester to semester?
No, the username will be the same throughout your academic life at NU. You can change you password.
Is it important to check myNU for information?
Yes. myNU has a feature that allows different departments on campus to contact students with important information and notices. Also, emergency information such as closings and delays will be listed on your myNU home page. It is also important to check your NU e-mail account, as this is the primary account used by NU staff and faculty to contact students.
