Education, B-6

This program leads to New York state certification in:

  • Early Childhood education, birth-grade 2

  • Childhood education. grades 1-6

Education, 1-6

This program leads to New York state certification in childhood education, grades 1-6.

Middle School

Education, 1-9

This program leads to New York state certification in:

  • Childhood education, grades 1-6

  • Middle childhood education, grades 5-9

In the middle childhood grades, you will be certifies in a specialty area (your concentration) and will be able to teach that content to students in grades 5-9.

Education, 5-12

This program leads to New York state certification in:

  • Middle childhood education, grades 5-9

  • Adolescence education, grades 7-12

You will be qualified to teach a specific content area (your concentration) in the middle grade levels and in high school.

Education, 7-12

This program leads to New York state certification in adolescence education, grades 7-12.  You will be certifies to teach a specific content area at the secondary education level.

Business Education, 5-12

This program leads to New York state certification in business education.  You will be certified to each business to students in grades 5-12.

Students with Disabilities

Special Education and Childhood, 1-6

This program leads to New York state certification in:

  • Childhood education, grades 1-6

  • Teaching students with disabilities (special education) at the childhood level (grades 1-6)

Special Education, 7-12

This program leads to New York state certification in:

  • Adolescence education, grades 7-12 in a specific teaching area (e.g. Spanish, English)

  • Teaching students with disabilities (special education) at the adolescence level (grades 7-12).  You will be certified to teach a specific content area at the secondary level, and be able to teach students who are receiving special education services in high school.
