Bio

Current Research

Dr. Hamza's current research interest and publications include immigrant education, parental involvement, culturally responsive pedagogical practices and motivation of ELL students.

Educational Background

Dr. Hamza received a Ph.D. and an M.Ed. in Cultural Foundations from Kent State University; and an M.A. in English from the National University of Niamey, Niger.

Current Involvement

Dr. Hamza is a member of several AERA SIGs, including Social Justice, Peace and Environmental Education, AERA Urban Learning Teaching and Research SIG, Global Child Advocacy SIG, and AERA Division K-Teaching and Teacher Education. He currently serves as a Board Member of HEAL Africa International and is facilitating a workshop on Modeling Culturally Responsive Pedagogy for Buffalo teachers at the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center.
