Internships & Co-ops

There are many opportunities for cooperative education experiences in our program. We have recently employed a full-time professional-inresidence with more than 20 years of experience in the system to help place students in meaningful internships. Over the past several years we have placed students in federal, state and local criminal justice agencies including the DEA; Federal Probation; U.S. Marshals; Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; the Niagara Falls Police Department; Niagara County Probation; Niagara County Sheriff ’s Office; the NYS Division on Consumer Fraud; the NYS Police; NYS Department of Corrections; U.S. Customs and Border Protection; the Niagara County District Attorney; and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo. Students have also taken advantage of semester-long internships in Washington, D .C., and with the New York state government in Albany.

Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students can do internships for course credits by enrolling with Dr. Paul Schupp:

  • Undergraduates enroll in CRJ 390- Field Experience in Criminal Justice for Fall internships, or CRJ 395- Independent Study for Spring or Summer internships.
  • Graduate students enroll in CRJ 600- Independent Study/Supervised Readings for internships in any semester.
