Created by the Department of Communication Studies and Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication honor society, to foster awareness and understanding of the mass media, Media Awareness Day is now in its fifth year.
By learning how the media operate in terms of disseminating information, individuals can interpret critical messages beyond those offered by th emedia and form their own educated opinions about the media.
