Curriculum Options

Minors

Minors are easily possible for transfer students particularly if you have already taken 2 or 3 courses in the area of interest. Minors consist of 5 or 6 courses, of which:

  • Half of the courses (3) must be taken at NU
  • Half of the courses (3) must be outside of your major requirements or discipline.

Double Majors & Double Degrees

Double majors represent the completion of the major requirements for two separate majors.  For a double major the secondary major courses can fit in as free or advised electives, as well as general education courses.

Double Degrees represent the completion of the general education and major requirements for two separate in two separate colleges

If you are considering a double major as a transfer student you should make an appointment in the Dean's office to review your credit placement for both majors.
