| Major & Minor Programs |
- Students completing the major program in CIS receive a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences degree. CIS does not offer graduate degrees.
- The major program is designed to give students a broad background in computing for business, scientific, and technical applications.
- There are few "pure" computer scientists; most work in service to another area. Therefore, Niagara CIS students are encouraged to minor or double-major in another field, broadening their educations and career options. Common second fields for CIS students are Mathematics, Accounting, and Commerce.
- Conversely, the CIS Department encourages students in other majors to pursue a minor or second major in CIS. A minor in CIS can be obtained by taking 5 courses agreed upon by the student and a CIS faculty member who serves as the student's CIS advisor.
