In participating in the CIS Co-op program at Niagara University, I was able to gain valuable real world hands-on experience with computers. I was able to work with a supervisor at Olin Chemical Corporation to redesign their Intranet site, teach software classes, fix various software and hardware problems that arose, and help switch them over to a new network system. There have also been major, plant-wide software and operating systems conversions I have assisted in such as Windows 95 to Windows NT, and Windows NT to Windows 2000. Working there was a tremendous learning experience for me and it helped me figure out what specific areas of computers I wanted to look for a job in.
