Gregory Grzymala, CIS 2001

A co-op experience is a great opportunity to broaden your education. Besides putting to use what you have learned in the classroom, you can also get a lesson in “real-world” problems. You learn what it takes to be successful in the business world as well as skills needed to perform well.

Some of my work duties at the Pyron Corporation include:

  • desktop and hardware support for all employees in both the office and in the manufacturing plant;
  • interacting directly with hardware/software vendors to meet company and department needs;
  • assisting in maintaining the Local Area Network and Windows NT environment; and
  • developing Microsoft Access databases for internal departments.

Besides technical skills, I have learned many key lessons from executives within the company. I have learned to develop my communication skills, participated in important company business meetings, and also learned professional problem-solving methods for the business world.

Working at the Pyron Corporation has been such a valuable experience. It will undoubtedly give me an “edge” when I enter the working world as a full-time employee. I would highly recommend the opportunity of getting a co-op to anyone.
