Established in 2005, Niagara University Scientific Outreach for Chemistry (NUSOC) is an initiative for encouraging the next generation of students to go into the sciences, in particular chemistry. As the scientific discipline with the highest employment rate, by far, it is worrisome that fewer and fewer students are going into chemistry. Partially at fault is the media, which portrays chemistry as either a major danger or a field where "nerds" go. As founder and director, it is my desire to change this image by demonstrating the wonders and marvels of chemistry. In addition to authoring chemistry editorials, NUSOC performs chemistry demonstrations at Niagara University as well as at local elementary and highschools.
