Basic EMT-D Refresher/Challenge

A  training program designed to be adaptable to the needs of the recertifying basic EMT- D whose certification has not expired or the basic EMT whose certification has lapsed. Each student is required to complete a challenge exam, after which the student’s performance is reviewed and an individual needs program is developed. Upon successful completion of the course and a state practical skills examination, the student will be allowed to sit for the NYSDOH written certification examination. This course challenges as well as prepares the basic EMT to recertify. It presents a general overview of the Basic EMT Original curriculum while bringing the student up-to-date with recent NYS standards and protocols.

Cost:
$350 — Free for students eligible for funding. Eligibility is based upon NYSDOH guidelines For the following course, please call Continuing and Community Education at 716-286-8181 or John Malinchock at 716-297-2446 for the monthly schedule and fees, for more information about scheduling a class on an individual basis at Niagara University, or for information about having our pilot program come to your location. These programs meet the requirements of the NYSDOH. Students who complete them will be issued a course completion certificate acceptable as verification of the core component portion of the pilot program.
