2009 CARE

Niagara University students should plan to attend one of the CARE sessions listed above. Registration is highly recommended immediately upon receipt of your CARE Welcome letter to insure your choice of a CARE session. At least one parent is highly encouraged to attend also. Last year 711 students, 803 parents attended the CARE program. Only students will be housed on campus and should plan to stay overnight. Check-in for CARE is July 13, 16 and 20 (the 1st day of the CARE session signed up for) and will be located in the O'Shea Hall Lounge from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Even if you are planning to commute from home, you are still encouraged to stay overnight. Please bring a large fan since the residence halls are not air-conditioned. The CARE mailing will go out the week of May 11.

Hotels

Parents and family members may make lodging arrangements at one of the local hotels. There are no on-campus accommodations for new freshmen the evening before or day after the CARE program.

Pre-New Student Orientation 2009

  • Thursday, August 27 - Friday, August 28

Welcome to Niagara University! As a new student, we want to make sure you are ready to begin your college career at Niagara University. You will need to participate in the Pre-New Student Orientation (NSO) session that will be held on Thursday, August 27th and Friday, August 28th. Two very important features of this program are the skills assessment testing and a meeting with the dean of your college to outline your academic career.

The complete schedule for the Pre-NSO session is enclosed. The session will conclude on Friday, August 28th at 3:00p.m. At that time, you will participate in the New Student Orientation program for the rest of the weekend before classes begin on Monday, August 31st. The goal of NSO is to provide a fun, informative program so that you can become acquainted with your surroundings and begin to meet your classmates and other members of the Niagara University community. Throughout the NSO program, never be bashful or hesitant to ask any NU staff member, orientation assistant, or resident assistant any questions you may have. Please RSVP your attendance to the Pre-NSO session.
