Phi Sigma Iota

   The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Phi Sigma Iota is Niagara University's Foreign Language Honor Society.  It is a national organizations, which is only open to juniors and seniors majoring in a foreign language, or with a concentration in a foreign language.  The students must possess a 3.0 GPA not only overall, but also in the Foreign Languages Department.   Phi Sigma Iota's purpose is to recognize outstanding ability and attainments in the study of foreign languages and to promote an interest in cross-cultural enrichment in the university community.

    Several activities are held throughout the year.   In the fall, an Induction Ceremony is held to welcome in the new members.   During the Christmas season, Phi Sigma Iota organizes an International Christmas and a poinsettia sale.
