Beta Delta
The Niagara University Chapter of Phi Beta Delta is an honor society for international
scholars and is dedicated to recognizing
scholarly achievement in international education.
Phi Beta Deltas goals are:
- to recognize the scholarly achievement of international students and scholars, U.S.
Students who have studied abroad, students
enrolled in NU's international studies program, and faculty and staff who are involved in
international activities.
- to serve as a vehicle for the development of academic-based international programming.
- to provide a network of faculty, staff and students involved in international endeavors;
and
- to extend this network to members in chapters across the country.
Elected officers guide the Niagara University chapter in the initiation of new members and
in scheduling events and activities
of interest to membership. There are four categories of membership:
1) Academically eligible
international students (juniors and seniors) who have demonstrated high scholastic
achievement at Niagara University,
2) U.S. students (juniors and
seniors) who have demonstrated scholastic achievement in the pursuit of academic studies
abroad,
3) juniors and seniors enrolled
in the International Studies program at Niagara University who have demonstrated high
scholastic achievement, and
4) faculty and staff involved
in international endeavors such as teaching, research or providing services and programs
to students and scholars.
