Opportunities

The Castellani Art Museum offers a wide variety of unique hands-on opportunities to various age groups through out the year.

Internship Opportunities for College/University Student:

Work with our Curator of Collections and Exhibitions to:Update artist correspondence and files, Complete research on specific artworks or areas of the museum collection, Research and produce wall labels and other interpretive materials, and Curate temporary exhibitions.

Work with our Curator of Folk Arts to: Conduct interviews with local traditional artists, Coordinate our annual traditional arts sale, Catalog documentation materials, Curate temporary exhibitions.

Work with our Coordinator of Education to: Develop adult tours and interpretive programming for the collection, Plan and implement activities for young visitors to the Museum, Coordinate professional development for local teachers, Create activities for school tours and other large groups, Complete implementation, publicity and documentation for ongoing Arts-in-Education projects.

Work with our Registrar to: Update slide files, Accession artwork, Complete transportation and insurance arrangements, Complete copyright research, Store and conserve artwork.

Work with our Gallery Manager to: Mat, frame and install artwork, Light gallery installations, Prepare gallery spaces for installation, Repair and maintain gallery spaces.

Volunteers (Age 15 and over):

Museum Shop:Volunteers are needed to assist with the operation of the Museum Shop at the Castellani Art Museum. Benefits include a 15 % discount in the Shop, meeting others involved in supporting the arts and invitations to the Museum openings and other events.

Museum Openings/Events:Volunteers are needed to assist with the operation of the Museum receptions, openings, and events.

Other Works: Bulk/Sort Mailing, Filing, typing, Art History Research, Receptionist (greeting visitors, answering the phone, taking messages over the phone, etc.), Assisting with Workshops for Adult, Assisting with Workshops for Children, Assisting Staff with exhibtion installation and preparation for openings, Assisting Secretary with various projects, and docents(*) (conducting tours) *Training required.
