Letter from the Director
Winter / Spring 2006

As we move into the holiday season and the blustery snows of winter, the Castellani hasmuch to celebrate and many reasons to welcome you inside our doors. First off, our third annual gala, “A Surreal Soiree: An Exquisite Evening of the Extraordinaire,” was indeed extraordinary, adding a net profit of well over $30,000 to the museum’s budget for educational programs. We are also celebrating four new exhibitions, starting with a show of Latin American art from our permanent collection, complete with a traditional music series and a folk art component of vejigante masks. Our TopSpin gallery will dazzle you with the most recent work by Lillian Méndez, and in April the renowned painter and pastellist Wolf Kahn will show his series of Niagara Falls images. Finally, our third annual exhibition of the most creative work by Niagara County’s schoolchildren will be on view, beginning April 23. Every exhibition, of course, comes with its share of educational programming for all ages. Our motto is that “every visit to the museum will offer a new surprise.” Be surprised often this season at the Castellani.
