A complete example of Sangster's portfolio of etchings of Niagara Falls and River, as originally issued in 10 sections with green covers. Supposedly 1000 copies of the portfolio were to be printed, but it appears that far fewer were actually published. Sangster spent three years making his portfolio, which is one of the grandest art publishing ventures undertaken in America.

663. Trade card for "The Dingman Soap." 1880s-90s? Outside dimensions 8 1/4 x 6 1/4. Chromolithograph. "Trademark Registered," #1605.
A trade card shaped like an artist's palette, upon which is printed a view of Niagara Falls from Prospect Point. On the verso of this image is the following text, "The Niagara River. Can't be swept back with a broom, neither can you expect to get `as good a wash' with an imitation as you do with the genuine DINGMAN SOAP. REMEMBER, These imitations are Made to Sell, while Dingman's is Made to Wash. These imitations of Dingman's Soap are Quack Soaps, made by Quack Manufacturers. YOU WOULD NOT Employ a Quack Doctor? Then why use a Quack Soap? Your Life is at stake in either case. Don't let your dealer make His Profit at the expense of Your Health. Use only the genuine Dingman's Soap. Always the Best! always the Purest! and, like Niagara Falls, THE WONDER OF THE AGE!"
