Background and Qualification

MBA, 1969, SUNY at Buffalo

M.S. Ed., 1976, Niagara University

Bo Pikas, a U.S. Army Veteran (1961-64) has purchasing management experience (1964-68) and completed a certificate in International Marketing from the U.S. Commerce Department (1972). He continues to be a part-time management and marketing consultant, with recent projects for a local manufacturing firm and a marketing project for a local religious congregation.

Professor Pikas is Professionally Qualified in the areas of marketing, general business and management courses.

Mission Related Activity

For years, students have indicated that Bohdan Pikas’ BUS 460 capstone course has been one of the most valuable they have taken. The course mixes the concepts of corporate strategy with critical elements of the CBA mission: Relevance and Ethics. Cases are used to teach students how to manage ethically in the real world. Demonstrating his commitment to students, Bo works tirelessly with these seniors to ensure that their Leadership, oral and written communication skills are up to speed for the corporate world.

Bohdan’s own leadership is demonstrated by the fact that he was Chairman of the Commerce Department for nine years, unanimously re-elected three times.

Intellectual Contributions and Professional Activities

Since 1994 Professor Pikas has had a total of four refereed intellectual contributions, including two presented cases.Professor Pikas' 1996 case study, "The Lauren Company vs. The Indian Shipping Company of New Delphi: A Case Study," reflects his shifting emphasis to a more pragmatic and teaching applicable form of research.Current Memberships:American Marketing AssociationAcademy of Marketing Science
