Business Pitch Competition 2014

What: Business Pitch Competition for Niagara University student teams. Five submissions will be selected to move on for a formal presentation and awards ceremony on March 27, 2014. The judging panel will be comprised of impartial and external subject matter experts. The competition structure and contest deliverables will mirror those developed for the WNY Student 2 Biz Challenge.

Who: Teams comprised of 2-5 current Niagara University graduate and/or undergraduate students. Each team must also have a faculty advisor of their choosing (and approved by the competition committee, or assigned by the committee).

When: A mandatory development seminar will be conducted on Feb. 13, 2014 leading up to the awards ceremony. At the very least, one team member must be present for the seminar, or the team will be disqualified.

Why: To promote entrepreneurship education and new business launches at Niagara University.

Prizes: 1st place $500, Second Place $300, Third Place $200. No restrictions on the use of these prizes.

Bonuses: Depending on the number of NU winners who advance, Niagara teams that enter this competition and are also chosen as a finalist for the WNY Competition will receive up to an additional $500 that can be put towards authorized expenses such as consultants, printing, supplies, etc. Depending on the number of NU winners who advance, Niagara teams chosen as finalists for the NY Competition will receive up to an additional $1,000 that can be put towards authorized expenses such as consultants, printing, supplies, travel, lodging, etc.
