2013 Business Pitch Competition

What: Business Pitch Competition for Niagara University student teams. Five submissions will be selected to move on for a formal presentation and awards ceremony on April 2, 2013. The judging panel will be comprised of five impartial and external subject matter experts. The competition structure and contest deliverables will mirror those developed for the WNY Student 2 Biz Challenge.

Who: Teams comprised of 2-5 current Niagara University graduate and/or undergraduate students. Each team must also have a faculty advisor of their choosing (and approved by the competition committee, or assigned by the committee).

When: Mandatory development seminars (*) for each team will be conducted throughout the spring 2013 semester leading up to the awards ceremony. You can attend either one of the two “introduction” sessions. At the very least, one team member must be present for each seminar, or the team will be disqualified.

Why: To promote entrepreneurship education and new business launches at Niagara University.

Prizes: 1st place $500, Second Place $300, Third Place $200. No restrictions on the use of these prizes.

Bonuses: Any Niagara team that enters this competition and is also chosen as a finalist for the WNY Competition will receive up to an additional $500 that can be put towards authorized expenses such as consultants, printing, supplies, etc. Any Niagara team that enters this competition and is also chosen as a finalist for the NY Competition will receive up to an additional $1.000 that can be put towards authorized expenses such as consultants, printing, supplies, travel, lodging, etc.

Supporting Organizations: Niagara County Small Business Development Center, the City of Niagara Falls, and the Niagara USA Chamber.
