Adjunct Professor, Physical Theatre

Bio

Robin graduated from Simon Fraser University, Canada. She apprenticed with the Canadian Mime Theatre and studied physical theatre in Paris at Ecole Jacques Lecoq.  A co-founder of the international touring company Theatre Beyond Words, Robin is presently Artistic Director/Manager of the company, specializing in writing and directing mask, clown and modern commedia dell'arte.  She teaches at Brock University and in 2007 won the Woman of Distinction Award for Arts and Culture in the Niagara Region.  For NU, she co-directed TBW's original multi-media play Night Train to Foggy Bottom (2008) and The Boy Who Could Sing Pictures by John Lazarus (2011).  Her adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s short story, The Canterville Ghost was workshopped at the Shaw Festival in 2009/10.  In 2012 Robin led a collective creation workshop based on a graphic novel, a project still in development.
