Terry Judd
Adjunct Professor, Physical Theatre
Bio
Terry graduated from Wilfred Laurier University, completed a two year apprenticeship at the Stratford Festival in 1967 and 1968 and took a six month course at the Canadian Mime School in 1975. He was an original company member of the Gryphon Theatre in Barrie Ontario and has worked as an actor in theatres across Canada including: Shaw Festival, The National Arts Centre, Manitoba Theatre Centre and most recently, Carousel Players and Odyssey Theatre. Terry was a founding member of Theatre Beyond Words, is a member of the Artistic Committee and has worked as a writer, actor and director since the company's inception in 1977. Since 1982 he has taught a full-credit 3-week intensive credit course in physical theatre at Brock University, Ontario. For Niagara University, he teaches physical theatre, and in 2008 he co-directed TBW's original mask, puppet and multi-media play, Night Train to Foggy Bottom. In December 2009 he starred in the Theatre Beyond Words’ production of Gifts from the Heart: The Room by Ann Snead. Together with Robin Patterson, Terry co-directed a production of The Boy Who Could Sing Pictures, which was presented in December 2011. This is the second play from the TBW repertoire to be done at Niagara University.
