| Meet the AEP Staff |
Antonia Knight was hired as the Director of the Academic Exploration Program (AEP) and advisor for the program in January 1999. Under her leadership the program has grown and received national recognition from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). AEP and Antonia were honored by NACADA with both the Outstanding Institutional Advising Program and Outstanding Academic Advising Administrator awards. Prior to joining Niagara University, she was an Academic Counselor in the Learning Center at D’Youville College, where she also served as adjunct faculty in the Career Discovery Program. She earned her M.S. in Student Personnel Administration and B.S. in Sociology from SUNY College at Buffalo as well as her A.S. in Liberal Arts & Science from Corning Community College. She has over fifteen years of advisement and higher education experience. |

Kathryn Marzec is an advisor in the Academic Exploration Program (AEP). She joined the award winning program at Niagara University in August of 2003. As an advisor Kathryn enjoys assisting students and will be teaching the First Year Niagara course (NUS 102) to AEP students in the fall. Kathryn served as an adjunct faculty member at Bryant and Stratton College where she taught Oral Presentations (Engl 110). As a graduate student she worked in the State University of New York College at Buffalo’s office of Disability Services and with the Academic Enrichment Grade Improvement Service for the Educational Opportunity Program at the college. She also worked for Canisius College as a graduate assistant in the Student Activities office. Kathryn received her M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College and her B.A. in Communication Studies from SUNY College at Buffalo. |

Stephanie Russell is an advisor in the Academic Exploration Program (AEP) who came to Niagara University in July of 2004. Each fall she teaches an AEP only section of NUS102 (First Year Niagara), a symposium course required for all Niagara freshmen. In addition she serves as the Niagara University Student Government Association’s (NUSGA) Class of 2010 advisor. Previously she worked in the State University of New York College at Buffalo’s office of Disability Services as an accommodations specialist and advisor for five years, as well as an instructor for EDU150- Reading and Study Skills for three semesters. Stephanie received her M.S. in Student Personnel Administration from SUNY College at Buffalo and her B.A. in Psychology from SUNY College at Geneseo. |

| Linda Schoepflin is the Academic Exploration Program Assistant. She will greet each of you when you come into the office. You will also talk with her when you want to schedule an appointment to see your advisor. Linda is responsible for maintaining our records and handling all of the paperwork for AEP. She really enjoys working with the students in the program and is willing to assist them whenever she can. |
