Student Activities and Organizations

Accounting Society is a student organization for accounting, finance, and information systems students.  The Accounting Society provides a network of students, professors and professionals with information about community service, internships and co-ops, career opportunities, the interviewing process, and business etiquette.  For information on membership, please contact the moderator Professor Al Oddo at aroddo@niagara.edu or by phone 716-286-8158.

Beta Alpha Psi is an international honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems; providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.

CEO: The Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization aids in forming successful Business people and career options by giving you the opportunity to be placed in real life scenarios displayed in the business field.  It is our mission through the CEO Program of Niagara University, to inform, support and inspire college students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation.

Economics and Finance Association has been dormant for a number of years, however, it is being resurrected during the Spring semester. Interested students should contact Dr. William A. Peek wap@niagara.edu .

 Financial Management Association (FMA) student chapter is a global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making. The mission of the FMA is to broaden the common interests between academicians and practitioners, provide opportunities for professional interaction between and among academicians, practitioners and students, promote the development and understanding of basic and applied research and of sound financial practices, and to enhance the quality of education in finance.

Our FMA student chapter offers numerous activities and programs which are customized to meet the specific needs of our members. These may include:

Logistics and Transportation Club (LTC), is a student organization dedicated to learning more about the field of logistics and transportation through interaction with the business community. Activities include attending site visits to plants and warehouses, attendance at local Council of Logistics Management meetings, and helping students to attend logistics related conferences and expos. The group is student organized, and has a full-time faculty member as moderator. Membership is open to all CBA students.

Niagara Center for Supply Chain Excellence is dedicated to satisfying the educational needs of the regional business community in the professional fields of logistics, transportation, and management.

Niagara University Marketing Association (NUMA), in affiliation with the American Marketing Association, was formed to enlighten interested students in the functions and operations of marketing. The association sponsors such outside activities as tours through selected firms and seminars featuring guest speakers. Sigma Iota Epsilon is both an honorary and professional fraternity.   This means that its general purpose is two-fold:  to encourage and recognize scholastic excellence and to promote cooperation between the academic and practical aspects of management.

Specifically, the purposes of Sigma Iota Epsilon are:

  • To stimulate interest and achievement in the field of management;

  • To stimulate scholarship in management;

  • To facilitate contacts between students and practicing managers;

  • To recognize persons who have made contributions to the field of management;

  • To gain recognition of the contribution and value of scholastic achievement in the management discipline.

Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM), is the leading voice of the human resource profession, representing the interests of over 65,000 professional and 6000 student members from around the world. SHRM provides its membership with education and information services, conferences and seminars, government and media representation, and publications that equip human resource professionals to become leaders and decision makers within their organizations.
