Bio

Professor Agnello began teaching for Niagara in 1979. He is a graduate of the University of Buffalo where he obtained a B.A. in economics and a Juris Doctorate.

In addition to his career at Niagara, Professor Agnello has also had the opportunity to teach at ESSEC in France, as well as East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai, China.  Professor Agnello also practiced law for twenty years in the Niagara and Erie Counties. He maintained a general practice with special emphasis on trial and appellate practice, and business formation.

Professor Agnello is very active in the community.  He is the Director of the Niagara University Family Business Center which works with family owned businesses in western New York on issues of succession planning, handling family conflict, and best business practices.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Artpark, where he has served as its treasurer, secretary, as chair of the Finance Committee and the Operations Committee. He is also very active in the environmental movement, as past president of Residents for Responsible Government and currently as a founder of Niagara watershed Alliance.  He has presented numerous lectures on the environment over the past several years.

Professionally, Professor Agnello is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the Academy of Management, Beta Gamma Sigma, Omicron Delta Epsilon, and the Academy of Legal Studies in Business.

Professor Agnello has written numerous articles which have been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, Organizational Ethics, The Business Review, Cambridge, and the American Journal of CLU. 

He has taught numerous courses at the undergraduate level.  His specialty is Legal Environment of Business.  He also teaches a Law and Ethics course for the MBA.

Current Research

Director of Niagara University Family Business Center - Working with family owned and privately held businesses in western New York on Succession planning, handling conflict, and best business practices. My research intrerests include business ethics, the environment, effective teaching, and business law.

Current Involvement

Visiting professor at East China University of Science and Technology (Spring 2008) and ESSEC in Paris France (Spring 2001). Member of the Board of Directors of Artpark & Company, and active member of Residents for Responsible Government, Inc.
